Welcome to the Garrick family blog!!! Tanner and I got married on May 23, 2009 and I am using this blog to chronicle the events of our marriage! I wanted to create someway for us to remember our first year but to be honest I am not very good at keeping a journal so I thought I would try blogging.

AHH Christmas Break Where did you go???

The last two weeks have flown by so fast it is ridiculous! I am very glad to have chosen a profession in which I get two weeks off during the holidays and nine weeks off during the summer. However, it would be nice if those weeks went by really really slowly as oppose to flying by. Tomorrow my life goes back to normal. No more sleeping in, playing on the computer, lunch with the pals, etc. Instead my days will now consist of 5:00am wake up calls, packed lunches, and being to exhausted to even look at a computer at the end of the day! AHHH the joys of being a teacher. If you think teachers have it easy because they get off work "early" and have "vacation" please be advised to never make such a comment to a teacher. We don't get out early!!! I spend anywhere from 9-10 hours a day at work and my job is not the type of job where you can just leave and forget it until the next day. I do love my job and I really missed my kids but like anyone else I would not mind another couple days of sleeping in and relaxing.

Welcome 2010

2009 was a great year for Tanner and I. It has been a year of ups and downs (mostly ups). We have discovered a lot about ourselves as individuals as well as a couple and everyday we learn something new about each other. I am looking forward to all the years to come and mostly looking forward to all the things we will learn about each other in 2010. I hope that 2010 will bring us the same amount of joy and hapiness that 2009 did if not more!
Below I have listed some of our top 5 moments of 2009.
1. Becoming Mr. & Mrs. James Tanner Garrick
2. Spending time with our family and friends
3. Honeymoon in the Dominican Republic
4. Lazy Sundays when its just Tanner and I
5. Buying our new house!!!!
(however the repairs part not so much!LOL)

Christmas 2009

Christmas day was busy busy!!! Tanner and I woke up opened gifts (I got a wii Fit. Tanner got new waders) then the craziness of the day started! We headed to my parents house to open gifts with them. I know I am 23 years old and still don't let my parents start opening Christmas gifts unless I am there. It's kind of silly but it is something that I enjoy every year with them. Sofi and I had a great Christmas thanks to Mom and Manny!!!! Love you guys. We spent the rest of the morning at Tanner's brothers who was kind enough to make breakfast for everyone. Then we went and ate lunch with my bros and I watched them attack T-man with their airsoft guns!!! It was a great Christmas but also a little tiring!!! Hope everyone else had a great Christmas as well.

Thanksgiving Dinner

We spend a lot of time with our friends so it only made sense to celebrate Thanksgiving together as well!!! However, we all have our own families, who we enjoy spending Thanksgiving with, therefore as a group we decided to celebrate Pre-Thanksgiving!!! We each brought some of the traditional food and enjoyed good company, good food, and great drinks!!! Dinner was suppose to start at seven o'clock however me, being me, forgot to put the turkey in the oven until about five o'clock!!! I seasoned it, had it in the browning bag, and had it in the pot at eleven in the morning...Some how I completly forgot to put it in the oven!! It was ready by eight thirty (just a little late) and might I add it was very yummy!!

Buoy

Buoy is Tanner's first love!!! He is our six year old black lab! We both love him very much but I do have to admit that he is not the brightest dog in the world. Lets just say that the fact that I am not the worlds best driver and he is not the brightest dog is not the best combination. An accident was bound to happen eventually. As I was pulling into our driveway the other day Buoy was standing there watching me! I expected him to move out of the way but instead he stood there without moving and I accedently hit him with my car!!!! Whoops! Poor BUOY

A Good Wife!!!

I love my husband very much and I am always trying to come up with ways to make myself a good wife!!! Last week I was thinking of some nice things I could do for my husband when I realized the tools he had were very dirty..... Idea... I decided to be a good wife and clean his tools in the dishwasher!!! Apparently though your not suppose to do that (it ruins the tools or something). Tanner along with our friends found this to be the funniest thing ever and have taken it upon themselves to tell everyone they know!!!! In my defense I didn't know you couldnt wash tools and well we got a funny story out of it!!!
